[7.5.4][PHP 8.5] Upload fails on all albums: "Updating album size statistics failed"

Detailed description of the problem

Since upgrading to Lychee 7.5.4 on PHP 8.5.6 / Laravel 12 / FrankenPHP, I can no longer successfully upload photos into any album.

The upload starts and seems to work initially, but the background job fails at the stage where Lychee updates album size statistics. This happens for all albums, not just a specific one.

The job error is:

Propagation stopped at album 2JF1yEq7XNw_BA9AxtQ_ygN1 due to failure: Updating album size statistics failed

Job failed permanently for album 2JF1yEq7XNw_BA9AxtQ_ygN1: Updating album size statistics failed

After that, I also see a secondary error related to Album::toArray() when Lychee tries to log the failure.

Steps to reproduce the issue

Diagnostics [REQUIRED]

Log in as admin.

Create a new album (or open any existing album).

Use “Upload photo” and select a normal JPEG image.

Wait for the upload/import to complete.

Check the album and the Laravel logs (storage/logs/laravel.log).

Actual behavior

The job responsible for propagating changes and updating album size statistics fails for the album.

The logs show:

I will try to investigate what is wrong. The crash on error means that there is also a serialization of Album so that allows me to dive a bit where that could come from.
