This is why #137 is needed, to make this really a thing we need something where you just give it a ROM file, and I guess you'll need to tell it what system it is because it won't always be able to know that (but a "guess" option is a nice to have, even if it has to throw an error when it can't guess), and it just runs the thing right away without needing to create a desktop file or anything, and chooses which emulator is most appropriate given compatibility and preferences.
Hopefully this isn't more ambitious than I think it is.
