Thanks for the report and log @RuslanSemchenko ! Did it get cut off by chance? It ends with Trying to disconnect two nodes that aren' making it look like there might have been more, including the exact "out of bounds" message. Can you trigger it repeatedly?

The module list makes it look like you may have enabled a custom lineup, maybe based largely on JoshariasSurvival? That can cause issues like this, although I think we've seen out of bounds errors even without lately.

I just downloaded the game, or rather the launcher, from here: https://terasology.org/downloads/
for Windows, unzipped it into a folder, launched it, installed the version, and now I'm going to start the game, but I get a window with the log above, and everything seems to be fine. Maybe the problem is that I have JDK25 installed on my PC, but I'm not sure how this could be the case.

And I think 17 JDK in 2026 is a very bad idea. It's better to upgrade to 25 and not worry about having to fix a lot of things then.

It can be a little easier said than done to upgrade, particularly due to some security features we rely on to keep module code sandboxed away from the engine, which have been deprecated and removed in later versions. But on the other hand that's one specific thing I started working toward a while back. Taking a while with 3 little kids around though :-)

With the launcher you should have the game launch with 17 though. And it sounds like it does (it wouldn't get that far on 25) then it fails due to a bug when trying to enter a world. Still curious if you can replicate it or if it only happened once?

I could start with the modules, but the problem is that I would have to put everything in one repository, and I've already replaced the packages in the dependencies with new ones, and instead of 17, I put 25, but there are a lot of errors related to jdk17, so I think I'll update all the modules to the new ones and then write the code for version 25. And overall, I think it will be better.

It's just that downloading modules in this way is a problem for me. I don't know if I missed something or didn't understand.

The logs are still getting cut off somehow - they're not complete.

There are currently three main ways to get modules:

1. Just use the launcher to get the "Omega" distribution of modules - essentially the set of most stable modules. This is bundled with the game zip and no action is needed, they'll be available in-game
2. Use the in-game module browser to download additional modules - this lets you update modules over time, although in some cases you'll have to restart the game for some things to take effect
3. From a source code workspace use the utility commands like groovyw module recurse JoshariasSurvival which will fetch every module in the dependency tree for the JoshariasSurvival gameplay template and place them into the modules directory, preparing them for when you run the game from source

You should never have to manually download modules either as distributed binaries or from Git. So I'm not sure what you're trying to do? Cramming all modules in source form into a single Git repo is fine if you're just experimenting but not a viable community or distribution strategy for a variety of reasons. Edit: Oh, and not all modules, as some simply won't compile - but something like the JoshariasSurvival set of modules should be fine.

And there is no way to just real quick grab the game, some modules, a JDK 25, and get anything functional out of it :-) If you're trying to contribute it may be easier to discuss on our Discord. Certainly would happy to have the help to get prepared for a newer Java, but that is a weeks or months long task

Right now, I'm having some problems with telemetry, but I think they can be fixed. I'll try to add support for 25 jdk on my fork, test it myself, and then send it here. Basically, if it works on Windows, that's already a huge plus.

Telemetry? It seems like you're tinkering with some stuff for sure. Would be cool to see something neat come out of it. Please don't stall out in isolation though from hitting weirdness or other issues - it can be really helpful to have a more live and collaborative back-and-forth on chat :-)

Rewriting the security manager real quick is a bit of a challenge though. There are a lot of moving parts involved in that.

I launched it in debug mode using JDK 25.
Everything works, but I haven't created the world yet. I'll take care of cleaning up the code from warnings.

Would the error produced here happen to be similar to the one in #5056? I do not believe that a cause was ever found, as it has proven very difficult to reproduce reliably.

I think the problem lies in the generation of the world itself. I'll check the code and maybe find something interesting. Static analysis could help find inconsistencies here.
