Both EnergyPlus and OpenModelica a great open-source simulation tools and more and more used for building energy system simulation at our institute.
Especially with Spawn of EnergyPlus integrated in BESMod, being able to simulate the E+ models with a similar API than Dymola or FMU (and open-source option OM) is a must have.
I will add these APIs based on existing work in one branch, as the then four APIs will share common functions. Thus, the base class SimulationAPI will most likely be heavily re-written.
