Can I ask what license this is released under? I'd like to use it in conda/conda-forge and possibly (if they would be interested!) in the R programming language to replace their existing R CMD javareconf shell script.

Tbh, this was still here. If it works for you, feel free to use it as-is, along with the associated jarlauncher under an MIT LICENSE. I'll try to remember to login and update all of them soon. I don't have any plans to maintain this: feel free to just pull it into whatever project you need vs depending by reference.
