EventEmitter import/inherit failing

I am trying to add this to my Quasar/VueJS project. Where should EventEmitter/events come from? Seems like the inheritance is failing. Is there an undocumented hard dependency on https://angular.io/api/core/EventEmitter ?

Getting this error:

Depends a bit on your build chain. This used to just work™ with old webpack and node-builtins. We're using vite right now and are fixing this by just installing https://www.npmjs.com/package/events in the host project.
