Research Summary: Context7 Integration

What is Context7?

Context7 is an MCP server by Upstash that injects up-to-date documentation directly into an LLM's context window. This solves the problem of LLMs having stale training data - when users work with recent library versions, they often get outdated or hallucinated APIs without fresh context.

Once integrated, users can say "use context7" in their AI assistant (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) and get accurate Tevm documentation.

Current Docs Setup

Tevm uses Vocs (not Starlight) for documentation. The docs are located in docs/node/ with MDX pages.

Integration Options

Option 1: Web Submission (Quickest)

• Submit the GitHub repo URL at https://context7.com/add-library?tab=github
• Context7 will automatically parse and index the documentation

Option 2: Add context7.json Configuration File

Add a context7.json file to the repo root for more control:

Related: llms.txt Standard

Worth also considering implementing llms.txt - a proposed standard for providing documentation to LLMs. It's a markdown file at /llms.txt that indexes important content. Some documentation platforms auto-generate this.

Recommendation

1. Start with the web submission to get indexed quickly
2. Add a context7.json for fine-tuned control over what gets indexed
3. Optionally add llms.txt for broader LLM compatibility

Oh this is dope I'll definitely add this after tevm 1.0.0 ships (coming very very soon) and will try using this service out myself to see if I like it

I haven't heard of anybody using context7 outside of this issue so for now I will just leave this open but not implement
