abstract: >-
codehound is a zero-dependency static analyzer built on
Python's standard-library ast module. It detects six
classes of correctness and async-safety defect that recur
in production Python AI/ML codebases: event-loop-blocking
calls inside async functions, mutable default arguments,
deprecated datetime.utcnow(), deprecated
get_event_loop(), unclosed file handles, and
fire-and-forget tasks eligible for garbage collection
mid-run. Each rule is distilled from a defect found and
fixed in a widely-used open-source AI/ML framework.
