Welcome to Kubernetes. We are excited about the prospect of you joining our community! The Kubernetes community abides by the CNCF code of conduct. Here is an excerpt:
As contributors and maintainers of this project, and in the interest of fostering an open and welcoming community, we pledge to respect all people who contribute through reporting issues, posting feature requests, updating documentation, submitting pull requests or patches, and other activities.
We have full documentation on how to get started contributing here:
- Contributor License Agreement - Kubernetes projects require that you sign a Contributor License Agreement (CLA) before we can accept your pull requests
- Kubernetes Contributor Guide - Main contributor documentation, or you can just jump directly to the contributing page
- Contributor Cheat Sheet - Common resources for existing developers
- Mentoring Initiatives - We have a diverse set of mentorship programs available that are always looking for volunteers!
Using AI tools to help write your PR or issue is acceptable, but as the author, you are responsible for understanding and verifying every change or problem you submit.
- Do not leave the first review of AI generated changes to the reviewers, verify the changes (code review, testing, etc.) before submitting your PR.
- Do not submit an issue based solely on AI-generated analysis without confirming it reflects a real, reproducible problem (or a well-understood request) in your own environment.
- The PR/issue description must be provided in your own words and describe the changes or problem you actually made or experienced. Please do not submit AI-generated summaries as a substitute for understanding and describing your contribution.
- Testing information must reflect tests you actually ran on your local machine. Include relevant commands, output, logs, or other evidence from your own environment where appropriate. Do not submit AI-generated or hypothetical test results.

If you used AI tools in preparing your PR or issue, please disclose which tools and how they were used, using the corresponding checkbox and field in the PR/issue template.
