Hi, I'm Willy, the maker of REMOSSH.
I've been using Monaco as the editor inside a browser workspace for files that live on remote SSH servers. The user connects an existing VPS or cloud server over SSH/SFTP, then works with its files through Monaco while an xterm-based terminal, Git controls, and port forwarding sit alongside it.
The current app uses
monaco-editor0.52 with React. The remote-workspace part made a few editor behaviors more important than they are in a local playground: keeping models aligned with remote paths, making reconnect states understandable, and keeping the editor usable from tablets and phones.REMOSSH also detects persistent tmux sessions, with GNU screen as a fallback, so the terminal process can keep running when the browser tab closes or the user switches devices.

I'm affiliated with the product. I'd especially appreciate feedback from other Monaco users about remote-file model management, mobile ergonomics, and editor features you consider essential in a browser-based SSH workspace.
