In the EMISSIONS_VARIABLES database (see the docs), there is a mapping from "Emissions|CO2|Energy and Industrial Processes" (iamc) to "Emissions|CO2|Fossil" (gcages). This isn't quite true because there are sub-categories in common-definitions that should be added to "Fossil". Might be useful to extend the documentation and point to the AR6PreProcessor (and other similar pre-processors?) to clarify and avoid confusion.
