Windwos Updates: what to do #1592
-
|
I’m using Windows 11 Pro with Atlas OS and would like to keep the setup as simple as possible. My usage is mostly end-user level, with some light development work in Visual Studio and .NET. Currently, Windows Update on the Atlas partition is prompting for updates, and I’m unsure what the recommended approach is. I’m not looking to manage this at a power-user level. If maintaining Atlas OS requires deep ongoing maintenance or manual intervention to stay stable with Windows updates, I would consider replacing this partition with Linux and using a standard Windows 11 Pro installation for development instead. I’m mainly looking for a clear, practical recommendation on how updates are expected to be handled in a typical Atlas OS setup. Thank you. |

Hey its nice to see this, well for what can i tell you and recommend the most its that to read the documentation(im just joking with you but its important). Although , i have to say only install like security updates, nothing else matters i do think but you know sometimes can become a little buggy so its at your own risk. And the way you handle your stuff of course. |

Installing Windows Updates is fine. This will not break any AtlasOS features. However, installing the larger updates (like 25H2 or 26H2), may undo some of the AtlasOS specific tweaks. |
