What happened to Github copilot pro+ yearly plan? #192790

I checked GitHub’s current docs, and for individual accounts I only see monthly pricing for Copilot Pro and Pro+ I could not find any current official mention of a yearly Pro+ option. So this seems less like an EU restriction and more like annual billing just is not being offered right now for personal Pro+ subscriptions. If you want to be completely sure for your account, GitHub Support is probably the best place to confirm. |

As of right now, GitHub only offers monthly billing for individual Copilot Pro and Pro+ subscriptions. There's no yearly option for personal accounts. Annual billing is available for organization-level plans (Copilot Business and Enterprise), but those are billed per seat through the org, not through individual accounts. The articles you've seen mentioning yearly pricing were probably referring to the old Copilot Individual plan ($100/year) that existed before GitHub restructured everything into the current Pro/Pro+ tiers. That plan was discontinued when the new tiers launched. So it's not an EU restriction, the yearly option just doesn't exist for Pro+ right now. If it matters for budgeting, you could reach out to GitHub Support and ask if annual billing for individual accounts is on their roadmap, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it coming soon. For what it's worth, Pro+ at $39/month is $468/year. If GitHub ever brings back annual billing, it would likely come with a small discount like the old plan did. |

The recent string of negative news about Copilot makes it clear: GitHub is hiking prices, and the trend isn't stopping anytime soon. |

Hi, Yes, yearly billing for GitHub Copilot Pro and Pro+ is still available, and it’s not restricted to specific regions like the EU. If you don’t see the yearly option, it’s usually due to: UI/rollout differences Try checking under Settings → Billing → Plans & usage or starting a fresh subscription flow. If it still doesn’t appear, contacting GitHub Support is the best next step. |

If you go through Settings > Billing and plans > Plans and usage and try to upgrade to Pro+, only the monthly option shows up for individual accounts right now, regardless of region. Pro (the cheaper tier) has both monthly and yearly, but Pro+ is monthly-only for individuals at the moment. The articles you've seen are probably mixing up Pro and Pro+, or they're talking about Business/Enterprise seats, which do have annual billing. If yearly on Pro+ is a must-have, your options are limited. You can downgrade to Pro and pay yearly (cheaper, fewer premium model credits), move onto a Business plan (annual billing available but needs an org), or just wait. GitHub has been quietly rolling annual billing out to more plans over time, so it may show up for individual Pro+ at some point. Fastest way to confirm for your specific account is a billing ticket through https://support.github.com. They'll tell you whether yearly on Pro+ is on the roadmap for your region or not. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
Hi Copilot community,
I am based in the EU and would like to ask if I can purchase an individual GitHub Copilot Pro+ subscription and pay yearly instead of monthly. I have seen in various articles that this option is available, but I am unable to find it in my account.
Is the yearly payment option still available, possibly restricted to certain regions? Or is GitHub no longer offering a yearly plan for individuals?
Thank you for your time.
