Follow-up from sillsdev/FwLocalizations#5 ("Trim semantic domain descriptions") — see the task-list comment.
Update: sillsdev/FwLocalizations#7 ("Fix semantic domain punctuation and spaces", merged) made a further 22 punctuation/whitespace-only fixes to the same file after PR #5. One of them (the Sacred writings Description) is on a string already counted in the 12 below; the other 21 are newly-touched strings — so 33 distinct strings now have a changed English source that Crowdin will flag, not 12.
The PR #7 changes are punctuation-only (missing/added terminal periods, .↔? corrections, stray-space removal), so for those 21 strings reconciliation should mostly be: sync trailing punctuation in each language's translation to match, rather than re-translating content. PR #7's own description flags one related loose end it didn't address: e.g./i.e. are sometimes-but-not-always followed by , (required for American English, generally omitted in British) — worth keeping in mind since punctuation conventions differ by language when reconciling.
Filed on TheCombine because sillsdev/FwLocalizations has GitHub issues disabled; the actual work happens in the Crowdin "fieldworks" project.
Task: In Crowdin, reconcile existing translations for the 12 (now 33) affected strings.
The English source shrank, but previously-translated/approved strings still contain translations of the now-removed sentences. For each affected string, in each language:
- Where easy (the removed sentence maps to an identifiable sentence in the translation): delete that sentence from the translation so it matches the trimmed English.
- Where difficult (the trim is woven through the translation and can't be cleanly excised): remove the approval so translators revisit and re-translate against the new English.
