This code works now without throwing an error when running. It does not substantially improve the control (makes it a little worse actually), perhaps because it replays the OF commands in time rather than corresponding to motor position
I realized during these tests that my dmc file was erroring out quietly so it had never been implementing the more advanced control I thought I was implementing.
plot bin distribution of laser pulses immediately and cleaning of laser pulse code
No errors thrown and error reduced compared to baseline but not better than P or D alone
added handle for rising/falling edge since not all wheels have magnet oriented same way
