CS-Next

A student community building software for the pursuit of excellence.

Welcome to CS-Next

CS-Next Logo

CS-Next is a student-led technical education club built for students who want their preparation to go further than what a syllabus requires. Most of what actually determines whether a student is ready for a product-based company — real problem-solving ability, exposure to how software gets built in practice, familiarity with the kind of questions those companies ask isn't covered by a semester exam. CS-Next works to close that gap through sustained, peer-driven effort: technical discussions, MOOCs, problem-solving, collaborative software projects, structured peer review, and the deliberate exchange of resources members have found genuinely useful.

Areas of activity

CS-Next's work spans the parts of technical education that improve most with regular practice and collaboration, rather than one-off effort:

  • Computer science concepts and problem-solving, built to hold up under interview pressure and real project work, not just exam conditions
  • Technical interview preparation aimed specifically at the kind of questions product-based companies ask, not generic problem sets
  • Software development and project work, done end to end and in teams, with the friction that comes from real collaboration
  • Open-source participation: contributing to projects beyond the club's own, and learning from how they're run
  • Peer learning and review: explaining what you understand well enough for someone else to use it, and having your own work checked in turn
  • Career-oriented discussions grounded in what's actually expected once someone starts applying, not general encouragement

Every activity the club runs is chosen because it produces something a member can use — a concept that's actually clear now, a project they can point to, or a resource that saves the next person the time it took to find.

Our approach

CS-Next gives members room to explore beyond the syllabus, but keeps that exploration tied to a clear standard: a discussion should leave something clarified, a project should leave someone with real hands-on experience, and a shared resource should move someone's preparation forward not just add to a pile of links no one revisits.

Membership carries a few expectations the club takes seriously: ask questions rather than sit with confusion, verify what you share before passing it on, credit and respect the work of others, and take responsibility for the quality of your own contributions. Experience level isn't a barrier to joining willingness to participate and keep learning is.

Club initiative

ByCompany - #1

ByCompany is CS-Next's answer to a specific problem: the interview preparation data that actually matters — which companies ask which questions — sits behind a paid subscription that not every student can afford. ByCompany is a free, ad-free directory that surfaces that same information: company browsing, question search, difficulty and topic filters, frequency data where it's available, and direct links back to the original LeetCode problem pages.

ByCompany displays question metadata only. It does not reproduce LeetCode problem statements, and it is an independent, community-run project with no affiliation to or endorsement from LeetCode.

The project also doubles as a test of the club's own standards: the data has to stay accurate, the contribution process has to be usable by students who've never opened a pull request before, and the site has to actually be worth using — not just exist.
