Describe the bug

GNS3 version and operating system (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 26H2 26300.9457, I used massgrave for the key for Pro but I had a legitimate Home key on this device previously
  • GNS3 version, GNS3.VM.VMware.Workstation.2.2.61

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run setup wizard after importing VM into Workstation and on first starting GNS3, choose the VM option. Although it will download the VM ova again, I downloaded it directly from github instead. Even if you import the ova before you installed gns gui/server, it still cannot find the VM.
  2. When searching for your imported VM, it will not show up if you have imported even if you click the refresh button.

The solution:
Restart GNS3 and go through setup wizard again solves this issue,

I tried other solutions from the internet including changing the default Workstation directory, editing %appdata%\VMware\preferences.ini prefvmx.defaultvmpath = "C:\Virtual\Machines\Example\Path", which does the same thing as changing default workstation directory, but they didnt solve the issue so I made this post instead. I reinstalled multiple times to confirm this. A case of "Have you tried turning it off and on again?". I didnt want to make an account for gns3 just for this so here I am
