There should be one PSWS enrolment procedure. hf-timestd/docs/PSWS_SETUP_GUIDE.md steps 4-6 document the older per-recorder model (a dedicated RSA key per recorder, a portal TOKEN, ssh-copy-id, hf-timestd grape test-upload); appliance stations use one station key (/etc/hs-uploader/keys/id_ed25519_host) with smd psws enroll / smd psws verify (lib/sigmond/psws.py, site-level enrolment). Neither document says the other exists, so an operator who finds the guide first follows a superseded procedure — and its residue is what makes smd status contradict smd psws status.
