I build practical developer tools, localization infrastructure, and full-stack products—with a focus on problems faced by Tunisian and Arabic-speaking developers.
These projects best represent what I build:
| Project | What it does | Stack |
|---|---|---|
| degachejs ⭐ 47 | Built to simplify common tasks for Tunisian developers — from CIN & RIB validation to phone number formatting and tax ID checks. | TypeScript |
| Tarjemni ⭐ 6 | Agent-friendly CLI and AI skill for Arabic and Arabic-dialect localization, switcher planning, and RTL QA. | Rust |
| degache-go ⭐ 2 | Tunisian developer utilities for the Go ecosystem. | Go |
| WebCraft ⭐ 3 | Modern web product experimentation in TypeScript. | TypeScript |
| ma7rath ⭐ 2 | A Go project from my backend and systems toolkit. | Go |
My flagship project, degachejs, removes repeated work from Tunisian applications. It provides type-safe utilities for national IDs, bank accounts, mobile numbers and carriers, tax identifiers, currency, postal codes, and governorates.
npm install degachejsThe same idea is expanding beyond JavaScript through degache-go: useful local primitives should be easy to access in every ecosystem.
Tarjemni combines a Rust CLI with an installable AI-agent skill. It helps developers inspect projects, find source strings, plan locale switching, preserve placeholders, and detect RTL issues.
npx skills add KhalidRouissi1/Tarjemni --skill tarjmniI work across TypeScript, Go, Rust, Python, and full-stack web development. I enjoy moving between product interfaces, backend systems, developer tooling, and automation.

“Khalid was a pleasure to work with. He brought a careful, detail-oriented approach to all his engineering work. One area where he particularly stood out was debugging. Tracing complex issues back to their root cause came to him quickly and naturally. He was also particularly good at identifying well-licensed (MIT/Apache) open source libraries and tools that saved the team significant development time, while keeping us on solid legal footing. He's a thoughtful engineer and a great collaborator, and I'd gladly work with him again.”

“Khalid brings curiosity, practical engineering judgment, and a strong instinct for building scalable solutions. His open-source work reflects a genuine interest in solving regional problems and creating tools that other developers can build upon. Beyond his technical ability, he is thoughtful, collaborative, and always willing to explore ambitious ideas. We also competed together in a hackathon, where our team won first place with 75% of the vote.”
— Marzouq Alshammari, Founder of HASYO and Tazid.co · Friend, collaborator, and hackathon teammate
I'm interested in open source, developer tooling, localization, backend systems, and products that solve real regional problems.
