What happened

I selected a sub-folder in my downloads folder (all other folders are disabled) which had over 200 photos. However, in app only 6 are shown

Steps to reproduce

1. Sign in and create a drive
2. Select a folder (n other folders added or enabled)
3. Wait for it

Thanks for the report. This looks like the "All files access" permission rather than the scanner itself. The folder scan reads the file system directly, and without that permission Android only exposes files that the media index already knows about, which is typically a small subset of a folder that was filled by copying or downloading in bulk.

Could you check Settings -> Permissions inside TeleDrive and confirm whether "All files access" is granted? If it isn't, grant it and run Scan now again. All 200 should be picked up.

Enable debug logging in TeleDrive's settings (Advanced section), then grab a logcat while pressing Scan now and look for the Backup scan line from BackupRepository. It logs how many candidates the walk found and a reasons map for skips. If it only found ~6, the stored folder path isn't matching what's on disk (picker path mapping); if it found ~200 with skips, the reasons map will say why (exclusions, max file size, adopted as already uploaded). Also worth confirming whether the 6 that made it are the newest photos in the folder.
