fix: keep the share extension open when the app is already connected to the Workspace - #7860
Sharing to Rocket.Chat while the app is already running opened the rooms list instead of the "Send to…" share screen.
Two sagas set the root when the share opens, and the last write wins:
handleShareExtension sets the share extension root.
handleSelectServer sets the Inside Stack when the SDK is already connected to the same Workspace.
The same-Workspace branch used to run synchronously inside put(selectServerRequest), so the share root happened to be written last. Since #7823, handleSelectServer first awaits applyServerCertificate. That made the Inside Stack land about 30 ms after the share root, and it won:
The fix moves the check the full select path already had ("don't start the Inside Stack while the share extension or its loading root is active") into startInsideUnlessSharing, and the same-Workspace branch now uses it too. The result no longer depends on which saga writes last, and the certificate is still applied before anything else.
The share loading root also no longer gets stuck when the share unlock is canceled. handleShareExtension now resets the root to loading before restarting with appInit, so the restored Workspace reaches the Inside Stack instead of being held by the new check.
The login success path had the same check inline. It now uses startInsideUnlessSharing too.
Android shares go through the same shareextension deep link, so they had the same bug and get the same fix.
Sharing after the app was killed was never affected: with no connection yet, the select takes the full path, which already had the check.
I have added tests that prove my fix is effective or that my feature works (if applicable)
I have added necessary documentation (if applicable)
Any dependent changes have been merged and published in downstream modules
Further comments
shareExtension.sameWorkspace.test.ts runs the deep-linking, init and select-server sagas together, with the SDK already connected and applyServerCertificate resolving asynchronously. The first test fails on develop (the root ends at inside) and passes here. The second cancels the share unlock and checks that the init saga restores the Workspace into the Inside Stack; it fails without the loading-root reset.
The new iOS e2e test shares a photo while the app is running and waits for the share list. The existing share tests run the deep-linking saga alone, so they could not see the race.
Moving applyServerCertificate below the same-Workspace branch also brings the share screen back, but it relies on the same synchronous ordering and skips the certificate on that path, so I didn't take that route.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Fixed navigation when sharing media while already connected to a workspace, keeping the share flow open instead of sending users into the regular app.
When authentication for the share flow is canceled or interrupted, the app returns to its regular loading and navigation flow.
Improved the transition after canceled authentication so the app can initialize and return to its regular screen after server selection.
Preserved the active share flow during login and server selection when a share link is being handled.

The server-selection and login sagas use a shared helper to preserve share-extension roots. After canceled or superseded local authentication, the deep-link saga switches to the regular loading root before calling appInit(). Saga and iOS end-to-end tests cover share-extension handling.
A shared helper starts the app at ROOT_INSIDE unless the current root is a share-extension root. The login and server-selection sagas use the helper.
Canceled share authentication and tests app/sagas/deepLinking.js, app/sagas/__tests__/shareExtension.sameWorkspace.test.ts, e2e/tests/share-extension/share-extension-deeplink.e2e.ts
After canceled or superseded local authentication, the deep-link saga starts the regular loading root before calling appInit(). Saga tests cover the share root, media URI, server selection, and Inside root. An iOS end-to-end test opens the photo share sheet and selects Rocket.Chat.
The change makes sharing into an already connected workspace open the Send to screen instead of the rooms list. No actionable merge-blocking risk was found.

Assert successful selection in the combined share-extension test.
The immediate Promise.resolve() does not let certificate completion precede the share-root update. However, the test only asserts the root and media URI. If selection fails afterward, the failure handler preserves ROOT_SHARE_EXTENSION, so the test can still pass without dispatching SERVER.SELECT_CANCEL.
Use a deferred certificate promise, resolve it after asserting the share root, then assert SERVER.SELECT_CANCEL in this same test.

Run the initialization saga in the cancellation test.
The test observes APP.INIT but manually dispatches SERVER.SELECT_REQUEST. It therefore bypasses the production APP.INIT → restore server → select server path. Fork initRoot and remove the manual dispatch. Add the initialization mocks used by the existing init tests.

Source excerpt: Local-first data flow: the UI reads from WatermelonDB, sagas sync it with the server.
The test name says the app restarts after the share unlock is canceled. The harness does not run that restart path. It forks only deepLinkingRoot and selectServerRoot, so no saga handles APP.INIT. The test then sends selectServerRequest(HOST, '7.0.0') itself. The restore logic in app/sagas/init.js never runs.
As written, the test would still pass if the init restore path broke. For example, restore could stop putting selectServerRequest for the restored server, or the cancellation flow could stop dispatching APP.INIT. The test checks only that APP.INIT was dispatched, then supplies the selection itself.
Suggested direction (not a patch): add the init root saga to shareAndSelectServerRoot and remove the manual selectServerRequest dispatch. Assert that the selection comes from restore. The harness already mocks getServerById, UserPreferences.getString, and localAuthenticate. Confirm that the init root has no other required dependencies before you make the change. If it does, rename the test to describe the share-cancel and manual-selection behavior it actually covers.
