🌍 Earth System Modelling Group at TUM and PIK 🌍

Hello there, we are the Earth System Modelling Group at Technical University Munich (TUM) and the Future Lab Artificial Intelligence in the Anthropocene Group at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). Here, we collect material and information about our teaching, mostly at TUM.

Models we develop

Our research group is also part of the development of new Earth System Model components with novel approaches using e.g. GPU acceleration and automatic differentiation (AD):

  • ☁️ SpeedyWeather.jl: A global, spectral atmospheric model with an everything flexible attitude,
  • 🌱 Terrarium.jl: Modelling land and ecosystems across temporal and spatial scales,
  • 🌾 NeuralCrop.jl: A differentiable global gridded crop model combining physics with machine learning.
