TacTalk Deafblind Messenger

TacTalk is a WhatsApp-style accessibility demo for deafblind communication using the Lorm tactile alphabet. It combines a shared hand input surface, tactile replay, sender-aware vibration playback, message normalization, and a lightweight two-contact conversation flow designed for demos and pitch videos.

Why This Project Stands Out

  • Accessibility-first interaction model for deafblind users
  • Anatomically anchored Lorm hand mapping with exact tactile gesture placement
  • Single-screen input and replay flow for faster communication
  • Outgoing message normalization so rough Lorm input becomes readable text
  • Incoming tactile replay queue with sender context and vibration sequencing

Demo Features

  • Draw or type Lorm messages on one shared hand canvas
  • Select a contact and send a message with inline undo/backspace support
  • Normalize outgoing text into clean readable sentences
  • Preserve the raw original Lorm string in chat metadata
  • Receive automatic demo replies only after the user initiates the conversation
  • Replay incoming messages as tactile gesture sequences on the same hand
