Why

The repository contains reusable skill instructions and reference documentation, but only the vendored Heroicons assets currently have an explicit license. That leaves people unsure whether they can reuse, modify, and redistribute the original repository content.

Apache 2.0 matches the license used by Convex open-source libraries and gives AI crawlers and downstream users a clear permissive license.

What changed

• add the standard Apache License 2.0 text
• declare Apache-2.0 in the package metadata
• document that the license covers original skill instructions, reference documentation, and source code in revisions containing the license
• state explicitly that this does not retroactively relicense earlier revisions
• preserve the separate MIT notice for vendored Heroicons assets

Contribution audit

Two merged PRs came from accounts that are not current Convex Slack users or public members of the get-convex GitHub organization:

• Fix typo #8 by Johannes Bremer remains in the current tree. Its PR body explicitly grants permission to use, modify, copy, redistribute, and relicense the contribution under terms of Convex’s choice.
• Refer to convex-migration-helper by skill name instead of repo path #18 by Scott Purdie has no equivalent permission. PR Clean up capabilities to remove non-production skills #25 later removed the affected files, so none of that contribution remains in the current tree. Earlier revisions containing it are deliberately outside this PR’s scope.
