“Build Once, Deploy Everywhere” directly from the CSPro Designer (using the LynxJs) #11

Description

@gregvolny

Times of constraints is also time for innovations !
While Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) may offer the shortest path to delivering CAWI and PWA features to the CSPro user community, I believe LynxJS (https://lynxjs.org/) is the most sustainable foundation for the future of CSPro development.

Over the last few weeks, I utilized leading LLMs to analyze which technologies best support an efficient, innovative 'Build Once, Deploy Everywhere' workflow directly from the CSPro Designer. My research indicates that structuring the Windows, Android, and Web runtimes around LynxJS offers the best long-term viability.

Technologies Explored:

  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • .NET MAUI (C#)
  • Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
  • PWA + Capacitor/Cordova
  • Qt/QML
  • (Electron: not suitable for Android and IOS)
  • LynxJS

Please read one of the report about the proof of concepts.

However, after further and careful review and analysis, LynxJS has been highlighted has the best option for offering us "Build Once, Deploy Everywhere” directly from the CSPro Designer. Please read the report here:
CSPro_Lynx_Build_Once_Proposal - March 21.md

Inconsistencies: I first generated the report without considering the runtime engine-pen approach.
It is possible to use LynxJS, React Native and create CSPro powered applications build without creating any pen. However, this require Encrypting sensitive dictionaries and logic bundles. This add some overheads in the process. It is why I tried to update the report for creating runtime engine able to create apps from the pen file, who is the current approach. However, this addition create some inconsistencies in the report that I will have to fix.
Best,
