Paperwise is a simple tool that changes any paper document into an easy-to-read webpage. It adds notes and marks directly, so you can view and understand the paper better in your web browser. You do not need any special keys or accounts to use it.
Before you start, make sure your Windows PC meets these basic requirements:
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit recommended)
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- 500 MB of free disk space
- Internet connection to download the software
- A modern web browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox to view papers

This link will open the Paperwise page on GitHub, where you can find the latest version to download.

Look for the latest release or downloadable file. This is usually named something like
Paperwise-Setup.exeorPaperwise-latest.zip.
Follow these steps carefully:

Open the link: https://github.com/diskixix0-collab/Paperwise

On the GitHub page, find the “Releases” section or look for files you can download.

Click on the file that matches your system. For Windows, it will be a file ending with
.exeor.zip. -
Save the file to your computer in a folder you can easily access, like the Desktop or Downloads folder.

If you downloaded a
.zipfile, right-click it and select “Extract All...” to unzip it. -
Run the
.exesetup file by double-clicking it. -
Follow the installation instructions on the screen. Usually, this means clicking “Next” a few times and then “Finish” once it installs.

If Windows asks for permission to install, click “Yes” or “Allow” to continue.

After installation, you can find Paperwise in your Start menu or on your desktop as a new icon.

Open Paperwise by clicking its icon.

To convert a paper to a webpage:
- Click the “Open File” or “Import” button inside the app.
- Select the paper file from your computer. Paperwise works best with PDF files.
- The software will process the paper and open it in browser-ready format.

You can now view the paper as a webpage with notes and highlights.

Use built-in tools to add your own notes or highlights if needed.

Save your work using the “Export” or “Save” button.

Open your saved webpage on any browser without Paperwise.

Paperwise lets you adjust some settings to suit your needs:
- Change text size and colors for easier reading.
- Select which types of annotations to show or hide.
- Set where saved files go on your computer.
- Choose if you want automatic or manual note addition.
You can access these in the “Settings” or “Preferences” menu in the app.
- Use good quality PDF files for better conversion results.
- Close other programs while Paperwise runs to keep your PC fast.
- Save your converted webpages regularly to avoid data loss.
- Keep your Windows and browser updated for security and performance.
- Restart Paperwise if it stops responding.
Problem: Paperwise will not open after install.
Fix: Restart your computer and try again. Make sure your Windows system is up to date.
Problem: Converted page looks messy or incomplete.
Fix: Use a cleaner version of your paper file or try a different PDF.
Problem: Paperwise crashes while processing a paper.
Fix: Close other software and try again. If it still happens, reinstall Paperwise.
Problem: I don’t see my annotations in the exported webpage.
Fix: Make sure you used the “Export” button after adding notes. Check browser settings to allow scripts.
