Initial Project Proposal

Ricetta is a recipe manager that merges the functionality of services like Google Drive and Pocket. It provides each user with their own space to save their recipes, and they are able to decide whether to share it with either friends or the Ricetta community. Search functionality will be available for this community, with less of an emphasis placed on a social network and more emphasis placed on creating a network of recipes. Users will be able to view public recipes by tag, and even have their recipes privatized.

I am interested in this project because of the lack of good software in this area. While there are plenty of recipe sites with account-like functionality on the internet, like AllRecipes.com, there is no easy way for a user to persist their own recipes with a simple interface. Since Ricetta emulates some of the qualities of Google Keep, it provides users with a way to store their own collection of recipes and share them amongst friends either privately or throughout the Ricetta community itself.
