I assume outside of the server context, the method needs to have an explicit session parameter and the caller also needs to pass it in.

I've continued reading and spotted some more minor issues.
Note: I'm not 100% sure about the parameter passing, there might be some magic R lookup I'm missing.
Anyways, thanks for the great book and making it publicly available, very much appreciated!
