When I first installed the app, I've noticed that I barely can see any text if it's not on white background. I am the unfortunate owner of Xiaomi Redmi 13C with MIUI 14, so MIUI dark theme settings override app theme settings in an ugly way, making all the text black when the theme is dark. I tried switching to light theme on my phone and even restarting it, but it didn't help. I've seen the same thing happening with Jitsi and official Pixelfed app. Mastodon and Pixelix (third-party Pixelfed client) handle this issue well somehow, so you should look at how they did it. The second issue is missing icons, there are almost no icons that aren't an "unknown symbol rectangle". Do your icons depend on web servers instead of being stored locally?
