Page freezes when clicking anything that opens a "more info" window on Google, sometimes the page can't even load.

I've independently narrowed down the cause of my own tab-freezing to this necessary (and mostly wonderful) extension.

Environment: I use Win 10, Firefox v153.0.3. I have an older CPU, Core i7 930, and I don't enable GPU acceleration on my 3060.

Reproduction: When I go to Google Images for any image search and click around on the thumbnails (now "masonry" tiles or something), then the right pane only opens once (or changes a very limited number of times) before the tab freezes. The action frequently elicits an alert in a bar across the top of the tab that begins "This page is slowing down Firefox...". When the freeze happens, nothing else in the page body responds to interaction. I am also unable to open the F12 console to find specific error info. The tab can only be closed as usual.

With googlePanicImages disabled, interacting with Google Images is as expected, though less wonderful, of course.

Something definitely broke the addon. It freezes the tab now constantly. And it's actually worse when I disable the showing on all thumbnails. The resolution on hover doesn't appear at all. The show resolution under images option doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore.
I tried the latest master.

Can confirm, something broke recently and it freezes constantly unfortunately; this is a fantastically useful extension, so I definitely hope there's a way to fix it.

I added version v5 - which can be tested freely now. There have been some cleanup, some improvements and some smaller fixes.
You can review this extension before the addon is updated. Let me know if you need any help.
