Dymo Duo - 93493 (300 series)

I have a Dymo Duo (the weirdly named one that is really the 300 series and pre-dates the DUO 450 series) And its a great unit.

• Probably the cheapest, tape+label model that prints uing all dymo D1 and Industrial tapes
• Prints 6mm > 24mm dymo tape + Address labels on large format labels up to 62mm wide.
• Has an automatic cutter
• Has the joint top address label speed output
• Works with 3rd party labels (Not affected by the issues plaguing the 550 series needing official dymo labels)

I'd love to see support for this little unit and saw it had been mentioned in the post #4. But that the conversation had died.
Is this device currently supported by this project or would you like me to gather logs and data to have it potentially added to the supported list?

I dont suppose the project is available via a docker container and utilizing USB passthru is it for ease of installation and testing?

Oh, that's a really beautiful unit! And thanks for the detailed intro! I only have the little LabelManager PnP, so my testing and development capabilities are extremely limited.

I wonder if it would make sense for you to pair up with @thinkl33t on #81?

Indeed, we do! It's right here. It's tailored to be a VS Code development container. But even if you're not running VS Code, you should be able to use something similar to these arguments to get it running.

I have the same model and would also love to have it supported. The problem is, LW Duo exposes two interfaces (one for the label printer and one for the tape printer) under the same USB vendor_id:device_id:

Both the label printer and tape printer are detected by the OS as /dev/usb/lp0 and /dev/usb/lp1. Only lp0 is visible in /dev though.

The question is, if it's possible to add support for multi-interface devices.

Working on hacking the LW Duo support together. As of now I added the LW Duo to the devices list and modded the device setup logic so that it gets the descriptor for the last printer interface instead of the first one, which will correctly address the tape printer rather than label printer now, also works on a single-interface labeler like it should. I also added automatic cutting after printing, now it'll be done on all print jobs after they're done, on labelers that don't have the feature it just shouldn't do anything. Can't get the vertical positioning of text right though, it's offset to the bottom way too much, so I'll have to work on fixing it while not breaking the software for other printers. Good thing I have a LM PnP as well. Might come up with a PR in the upcoming days.

Might be useful - You might want to check if you have a V1 or V2 unit. The V1 has a 96dpi printer which does throw the text alignment out. The V2 has a 128dpi unit. The 2 generation have 2 different ID's i believe as well. (96-dot Unit ID:(0017) / 128-dot Unit ID:(001D) A quick way to tell is if you eject the tape drive and remove the tape and look for a "tape selection switch" the v1 had this ... the v2 didn't.

did you ever get it working? glabel is fine for the larger labels but its a pain to try and print the normal labels
