215-216: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winMake the request helper support a box-only request.
_post_interactivealways sendspoints, so passingboxescreates the invalid points-and-boxes request. Allow callers to omit points, then add an HTTP 200 test for a box-only request. The service tests cover box prompt construction, but no route test covers successful box-only validation and dispatch.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Import the
functools module instead of partial
The Python import convention requires external functions to be called through their containing module. Replace this direct import with import functools and use functools.partial(...) where the provider image is constructed.

Pass the fsspec path arguments by keyword
These external function calls should follow the repository convention of using keyword arguments. Call url_to_fs(url=file_path) and cat_file(path=path) so the meaning of each path is explicit.

Call
uuid4 through the uuid module
The Python import convention permits direct class imports such as UUID, but functions should be accessed through their containing module. Import uuid and call uuid.uuid4() in these route tests.

❌ Fast Track: checks did not pass
To run the guardrails locally, from Reflects |
POST /api/annotate/interactive returns a single-object mask preview from point or box prompts. The route is async and runs the work on a dedicated bounded thread pool (8 workers), so slow provider calls hold neither a DB session nor a thread of the shared Starlette pool. The DB session is open only to load the image. ProviderError maps to 502 and ProviderUnavailableError to 503.
Mock find_spec in the unavailable test so that it passes without the fal extra. Post the requests through one helper, remove the route test that repeats a model test, and use make_prompt.

What has changed and why?
Part 6 of 17. This stack replaces the assisted labeling prototype (PR 2752) with small PRs. Each PR adds one part. The tools use SAM 3 on fal.ai. They work when the
falextra is installed andFAL_KEYis set. Otherwise they are disabled with a reason.POST /api/annotate/interactivefor smart select. It returns one preview from points or a box and saves nothing.utils/executor, but it sets the worker count from the CPU count. Provider calls wait on the network, so this PR uses a fixed count.run_provider.segmentis the only place that calls the provider. The usage reporting PR can wrap it.FAL_KEYgives 503.How has it been tested?
