Part of #1635.

Removes stale mypy exclusions for files that already pass type checking:

  • lightly/utils/cropping/read_yolo_label_file.py
  • lightly/utils/benchmarking/benchmark_module.py
  • tests/utils/benchmarking/test_benchmark_module.py

No type annotation changes were required because these files already pass mypy.

Validation:

  • make type-check
  • make format-check
  • uv run --frozen pytest tests/utils/benchmarking/test_benchmark_module.py

Removed mypy exclusions for the YOLO label reader, benchmark module, and benchmark tests. Added an exclusion for knn_classifier.py.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to a645f

The change reduces type-check coverage for the KNN classifier. It is a bounded merge risk; remove the new exclusion or explicitly accept that coverage loss.

📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Keep knn_classifier.py in the mypy workflow.

make type-check passes lightly tests to mypy. This new exclusion removes knn_classifier.py from recursive type-check discovery. The lightly.utils.benchmarking.* override also sets follow_imports = "skip", so imports do not restore coverage. Type errors in this typed module can therefore go undetected. Remove this exclusion.

Remove the knn_classifier.py exclusion from the mypy configuration so make
type-check continues discovering and checking this module; retain the
surrounding exclusions and the lightly.utils.benchmarking.* override unchanged.
