I'm Martin Schoeman, a full-stack developer and AI engineer focused on building intelligent products, automation systems and the infrastructure behind them.
I like problems where the useful information is scattered across people, tools, messages, files and workflows. My work is about connecting those pieces into software that can understand context, reduce repetitive work and help people make better decisions.
people + data + tools + context → connected systems → useful action
Lancee is the project I'm putting most of my energy into right now.
It's evolving into an intelligent operating workspace for freelancers and small businesses — bringing client work, projects, communication, files, meetings, money, automations and connected tools into one environment.
The interesting part isn't simply putting those features in the same app. Lancee is being built so the workspace can understand the relationships between them.
A meeting can relate to a project. An email can become a signal. A payment can change a client's context. A past decision can become useful when a similar situation appears again.
That idea drives Lancee's Connected Intelligence layer: software that can surface useful context from work that would otherwise stay fragmented across separate systems.
- Agentic systems — agents that can reason, use tools and operate within real product boundaries
- Connected intelligence — discovering useful signals across projects, communication, meetings, payments and other business data
- AI-native product engineering — designing AI as part of the system architecture rather than adding a chatbot afterward
- Automation — removing repetitive work while keeping important decisions visible and controllable
- Systems integration — making APIs, services, infrastructure and business workflows behave like one coherent product
- Retrieval & context — getting the right information to an AI system at the moment it actually matters
I came into software through infrastructure, networking and systems work, so I care about more than whether something looks good in a demo.
I care about how it behaves when services fail, data is incomplete, permissions matter, users do unexpected things and the system has to keep running.
That background shapes the software I build today: practical architecture, observable workflows, explicit approvals, useful automation and AI that has real context to work with.
