…up to date AUTHORS listed 28 names including bots and Matthew Hudson three times, and missed nine people who have committed since. The all-contributors table only had four entries. Add a .mailmap that folds the maintainer's identities into one, regenerate AUTHORS from the git history (37 people, no bots), add every commit author with a GitHub account to .all-contributorsrc (33 entries) and regenerate the README table with all-contributors-cli. Summary
The three contributor lists had drifted apart:
AUTHORShad 28 lines: Matthew Hudson three times under different names and e-mails, two bots (greenkeeper, the Gitter badger), and nine people who have committed since it was last touched were missing (Anson Hou, Finlay Smith, Ivan Križnar, LeeKatz1, Marcel Blum, Rafael Terán, Vishnu Singh, girvan, thomasjonas, Дмитрий Уткин, martinwepner)..all-contributorsrcand the README's Contributors table (generated from it) listed four people.git shortlogknows 37 humans.Changes
.mailmap(new) folds the maintainer's three identities (matthud@gmail.com,matt@matthewghudson.com, the lowercasematthewhudsonname) into one, sogit shortlogandgit log --use-mailmapcount one person.AUTHORSis regenerated from the git history with the mailmap applied: 37 people, alphabetical, bots left out. A header comment records the command that produces it..all-contributorsrcgains the 29 commit authors who have a GitHub account and were not listed, each with thecodecontribution type, in order of first commit. The existing four entries (including Allan'sreviewcredit) are unchanged. Logins and avatar ids come from the GitHub commits API for this repository, not guessed from names.all-contributors-cli generate(33 people, 7 per row). Nothing outside the marked section changed. Not in the table
Five committers have no GitHub account linked to their commit e-mail, so all-contributors has no login or avatar for them: Finlay Smith, Mike Taylor, Philip Karpiak, Rob Laucius and ckcecjtu. They are in
AUTHORS. If you know their GitHub handles, pnpm dlx all-contributors-cli add <login> codeadds them.Contributions that arrived as squashed pull requests committed under the maintainer's name cannot be recovered from history, so anyone in that situation is still missing from both files.
Test plan
git shortlog -se origin/mainwith the new.mailmapshows Matthew Hudson once.all-contributorsrcparses; the README table has 33 cells and the rest of the README is byte-identicalGenerated by Claude Code
