- Line 305: The ramp-driving loop around runWorker must observe worker failures
before waiting indefinitely on generator.allHandedOut. Add synchronized error
reporting (using an actor or lock-protected state) that workers update when they
fail, have the controller check while driving the ramp and stop once an error is
recorded, then let group.waitForAll() propagate the failure without workers
mutating the ThrowingTaskGroup or shared added state concurrently.

The controller's bottom-of-loop measurement sleep was still a full window: a finished (or failed) pool held the download open for up to 30 s after the last chunk was handed out. Sliced via the existing rampSleep helper, matching the two continue-path sleeps.
Summary
Six commits of download-path work — correctness, visibility, and throughput — all covered by tests.
1. Verification progress in the popup
Digest passes (minutes-long on the V4.1 quants) render as their own row —
Verifying part 1 of 2…/Verifying the joined file…— with a % that advances as the hash reads, instead of a frozen download bar with no speed. The download row steps aside at 100%; quants without a published digest (Flash 0731, Pro) keep their instant size check and show no row.2. Pipelined Q4 verification
Part 1's digest pass now runs concurrently with part 2's fetch (hash = CPU/disk-bound, fetch = network-bound), saving the whole ~4-minute verification window on every Q4 download. Correctness unchanged: each part is fully verified before use, the join still re-verifies the assembled result, and an explicit race means a failure on either side cancels the sibling (a corrupt part 1 aborts the in-flight part 2 fetch — pinned by
testCorruptPreexistingPartIsDiscarded) while a verification success never cuts the fetch short.3. Adaptive High Performance connections
High performance mode no longer starts 64 connections: it begins at the CGNAT-safe 8 and doubles toward 64 only while measured throughput improves, settling back at the best-observed count on the first non-improving (or stalled) window. After settling it re-arms every ~5 minutes to probe one promotion, so a recovering link gets used. This fixes a measured failure mode: on a lossy VPN, 64 connections froze a download at ~0 MB/s while ~10 GiB arrived but few chunks committed.
4. Live connection count in the progress line
2% · 8/366 GB · 123 MB/s · 16 conns— the ramp's decisions are visible while they happen, reported by the downloader with every progress tick and on every ramp change.5. Smaller fixes
Package.swifttrailing comma.Tests
DownloadProgress, pinned in the popup source.286 tests, 0 failures;
swift format lint --strict --recursive Sources Testsclean.Supersedes #27 (same branch, grown scope).
