Wordlist generation error

If wordlist contains only 2 lines and you set -n 900000 -l 2 should't it stop after 4 combinations (max possible)?
It continues to -n 900000 with same strings

no it doesn't stop.

But if you give a list of 1024 words as a wordlist, it will produce quite a lot of different sentences.
