Prevent command injection in `isInstalled` by switching from `child_process.exec` string evaluation to `child_process.execFile` with array arguments. Also reject `runCommand` promise when execution returns an error so installation checks handle failures correctly. π‘οΈ Sentinel: Fix command injection vulnerability in analytics package installation check
π¨ Severity: HIGH
π‘ Vulnerability:
isInstalledinsrc/lib/analytics/sources.tsexecuted system commands (which, where, adb) by concatenating user/system inputs into shell strings passed directly tochild_process.exec.π― Impact: Attackers able to influence command arguments could execute arbitrary shell commands in the context of the running process via shell metacharacters.
π§ Fix:
runCommandandisInstalledto usechild_process.execFilewith argument vectors, neutralizing shell command expansion.runCommandto reject on execution error so command checks reliably returnfalseon missing or invalid executables.β Verification: Added unit tests in
test/jest/unit/analytics-sources.spec.tsmockingexecFileand verifying safe parameter arrays and command injection resistance.PR created automatically by Jules for task 4761026848835372050 started by @piyyy314
