One-Core-API makes it possible to install and use the latest Steam client on Windows XP, Server 2003, and their x64 counterparts. To avoid the "steamwebhelper is not responding" error, follow these mandatory steps:
- Ensure you are using the latest Service Pack (SP3 for XP x86, SP2 for Server 2003/XP x64).
- Before running the Steam installer, right-click
SteamSetup.exe-> Properties -> Compatibility -> Set to Windows 7. - After installation, apply the same Windows 7 Compatibility Mode to the
Steam.exeexecutable in the installation folder. -
