Google Play Store App Data Scraper

This script allows you to scrape data from the Google Play Store for a specific category of apps. It retrieves information such as app ID, title, number of installs, rating, price, and more. You have the option to store the scraped data in a MongoDB database or print it to the console.

Requirements

• Python 3.x
• Dependencies listed in requirements.txt

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/sysp0/play_store_data.git

2. Install the required dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt

Usage

python scraper.py <category> [--db]

• category: Specify the category of apps to scrape (e.g., GAME, TOOLS, SOCIAL).
• --db: Enable the database connection (optional).

The script will scrape data for the specified category of apps and either store the data in a MongoDB database or print it to the console.

Example

To scrape data for the "GAME" category and store it in the database, run the following command:

python scraper.py GAME --db

To scrape data for the "TOOLS" category and print it to the console, run the following command:

python scraper.py TOOLS
