Test In OSX

The environment is OS X 10.10.5. X11 Server => XQuartz

I need to use "apt-get install nvidia-340-dev". this will fix libGL problem.
I can successful to run /opt/qt58/bin/designer, it will show qt designer normally.

but run /opt/qt58/bin/qtdialog, it will show the "Unable to create a Open GL context".

I tried other images or I create image from ubuntu 14.04. also same issues.

I use apt-get install qt58creator to install qtcreator, i can run normal.
but it will show a "Plugin loader messages" dialog.
in the dialog, has three items, QmlDesigner, QmlProfiler, Welcom.
they have "Plugin initialization failed: Cannot create OpenGL context.

I have been able to run successfully qtcreator, here is how I made it :

Env: OS: Ubuntu 14.04 64bit

Create Dockerfile

Create a wrapper Dockerfile from this image:

    echo "developer:x:${uid}:${gid}:Developer,,,:/home/developer:/bin/bash" >> /etc/passwd && \

    echo "developer ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL" > /etc/sudoers.d/developer && \
    chmod 0440 /etc/sudoers.d/developer && \
    chown ${uid}:${gid} -R /home/developer

USER developer
ENV HOME /home/developer

WORKDIR /home/developer

CMD ["/bin/bash"]

Build image

$> docker build -t qt5 .

Run Container

$> docker run --rm -ti --privileged -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -v=/dev/dri:/dev/dri:rw qt5 bash

Install Qt Creator

developer@2bbaee401970$> sudo apt-get install -y qt58creator

Run QtCreator

developer@2bbaee401970$> qtcreator

You can install qtcreator inside the wrapper :

sorry I don't have a Linux Hardware. I use Parallels Desktop in the OS X 10.10.5.
I try run the method in the Linux Virtual Machine. Virtual Machine will logout each time.

I try use this method in the OS X 10.10.5, I got the same problem. need to install nvidia driver.

as was asked here zachdeibert/docker-images#2 , did you install nvidia driver in the host or inside the containter ?
