Cannot toggle auto updates

Describe the bug

A video of the issue is worth than lots of words: https://asciinema.org/a/4S4OOVENFM1Yrh7LXAZMXZuWu

Basically, I can't disable auto updates using the command ujust toggle-updates.

What did you expect to happen?

Auto updates should be disabled.

I disabled uupd.timer and rpm-ostreed-automatic.timer manually and now I can see that the output shows auto updates as disabled. I guess there's something off with the ujust recipe.

AI Generated:

The ujust toggle-updates command in Bluefin is implemented using a Justfile and supporting scripts that interact with systemd unit files managing automatic updates—typically rpm-ostreed-automatic.service and its timer. The command likely uses systemctl to enable or disable these units, or manipulates drop-in configuration files to toggle auto-updating behavior. If the toggle fails, possible causes include systemd units being masked, missing, or running in a user context rather than system-wide.

To troubleshoot, check the status of rpm-ostreed-automatic.service and its timer with systemctl status rpm-ostreed-automatic.{service,timer}. Look for masking (systemctl list-unit-files | grep masked) or missing units, and review system logs for errors when running the command. As a workaround, you can manually disable auto updates with sudo systemctl disable --now rpm-ostreed-automatic.timer and sudo systemctl disable --now rpm-ostreed-automatic.service.

If you continue to have issues, collecting the output of the above commands and any error messages will help narrow down the cause. The code is modular, so problems can usually be traced to the Justfile logic, systemd service syntax, or permission boundaries.
