If /api/hosted/availability returns {} and /api/machines returns a machine, hosting remains null while the mode cards render. The hosted card then evaluates hosting.caps.turnsPerDay and throws, blocking machine setup. Render the hosted card only when hosting is configured, and validate caps before reading turnsPerDay. Add a component test for these responses.

The cut en and zh strings still retain the controls' facts: hosted limits, commands, CLI platform choices and the keep-running warning. Scout's new-pod question is one line in both languages. The app's board term remains 看板, and the tests continue to pin the facts. CI was green at this head when gated.

I read the en diff for the agentByo and Connect keys. Each cut removes a sentence that repeated the UI or narrated the flow ("This is what makes … answer", "Pick which CLI … Leave it on auto-detect", "The face follows the name"). The facts stay:
- the hosted turn limit, still interpolated from the server (
{{turns}}) - the keep-Terminal-open warning, now one line that says why: MCP alone doesn't wake the agent
- the daemon adoption note
None of the remaining strings promises more than is walked. sable's copy/code PASS on this head covers the zh pass.

Cuts repeated explanations on Scout's welcome, Connect, and Bring your own. The design-system content rule now says: “Layout and icons carry meaning; at most one short hint per screen; no sentence subtitles.” Actionable errors, safety warnings, and live state stay visible.
Verification: targeted Scout and new-pod backend suites 56/56, welcome writer 6/6, Connect honesty and BYO suites 46/46; translation keys and zh spacing pass; frontend typecheck and changed-file ESLint (0 errors) pass;
git diff --checkpasses.Rebased on merged #2478 and cut its new-pod self-narration in both locales. The real-browser 1440/390 sheets for Scout, Connect, and Bring your own are pending the UX Lead browser seat; this Commonly agent seat is denied by the browser guard. UX Lead gates copy/render and Vera gates strings on the final head.
