Propagate worker failures during the ramp loop.
The parent does not consume task-group results until group.waitForAll(). If a worker throws from runWorker, the ramp loop can continue sleeping, measuring throughput, and adding workers before it observes the error. Consume worker results while the ramp runs, and cancel sibling workers when the first worker fails.

Accept an exact 10% throughput improvement.
The documented policy uses “≥10%,” but both strict > comparisons reject an exact 10% improvement. This condition can stop the ramp one tier too early.

Limit the adaptive description to High Performance mode.
When High Performance mode is off, HFDownloader.workerCount(highPerformance: false) returns 8. The downloader therefore sets both the worker count and ramp cap to 8. The footer currently states that all downloads can increase to 64.

Respawn workers when a settled ramp starts a probe.
added counts historical task creation. After workers 8 through 15 exit when the ramp returns to 8, added remains 16. A later startProbe() raises ramp.allowed to 16, but next > added is false, so no tasks are added. The probe can continue with only workers 0 through 7 while progress reports 16 connections.
Track active or reusable worker slots. Recreate exited worker IDs when a probe increases ramp.allowed.

Superseded: the branch gained several new features since this PR was opened (adaptive High Performance connection ramp with re-arm, live connection count in the progress line, picker rename), so the scope/title no longer match. Opening a fresh PR with the full scope. |
Summary
Two download-UX/throughput improvements, both covering all models (any quant with a published digest), with tests.
1. Verification progress in the popup
Digest passes (minutes-long on the V4.1 quants) now surface as their own row — e.g.
Verifying part 1 of 2…/Verifying the joined file…— with a percentage that advances as the hash reads (per-16 MiB-block callbacks, coalesced to ~256 MiB UI steps), instead of a frozen download bar with no speed. The download row steps aside once every byte is fetched (d.pct < 100); quants without a published digest (Flash 0731, Pro) keep their instant size check and show no verification row.GGUFJoiner.sha256/verify/joingained anonHashProgresscallback;SupervisorServicepublishes aVerificationProgress(label, pct, bytes) behind a generation guard so cancelled/stale passes can't resurrect a row.2. Pipelined Q4 verification
Part 1's digest pass now runs concurrently with part 2's fetch (hash = CPU/disk-bound, fetch = network-bound), saving the whole verification window (~4 min on a fast link) on every V4.1 Q4 download. Correctness is unchanged: each part is still fully verified before anything downstream uses it, and the join still re-verifies the assembled 518 GiB result.
DownloadRaceTests.testCorruptPreexistingPartIsDiscarded), while a verification success never cuts the fetch short.Tests
GGUFJoinerTests: hash progress is monotonic and reaches the full size; verify forwards the callback and stays silent for digest-less quants.SupervisorIntegrationTests: verification row appears with the right label/total and is cleared by cancel; part 2's fetch starts while part 1's hash still runs (and cancel stops the hash).GUIHostOptionSourceTests: popup wiring (verification row, status label, download-row handoff).swift format lint --strict --recursive Sources Testsclean.Summary by CodeRabbit
