Adds AWS SageMaker as a new provider (sagemaker) for real-time endpoints. Chat requests go through SageMaker's OpenAI-compatible /openai/v1/chat/completions route, so vLLM, SGLang, LMI and llama.cpp containers work behind Bifrost without a custom adapter. Bifrost mints the SageMaker bearer token locally from AWS credentials, or accepts a pre-minted token.
Changes
New sagemaker provider
Supports ChatCompletion and ChatCompletionStream. The stream reader accepts both SSE (vLLM, SGLang, llama.cpp) and JSON-lines (LMI) output.
Responses and ResponsesStream are served by converting to chat, since SageMaker only routes chat/completions. Text completion, embeddings and every other operation return unsupported-operation errors.
ListModels has no models endpoint on /openai/v1 to call. Instead it lists the InService endpoints found by ListEndpoints in the key's region, filtered by the key's allowlist, blacklist and aliases, and backfills the allowlist's own entries. Discovery is skipped for keys with no region or with a pre-minted bearer token, which cannot sign control-plane calls.
Model id format
The model id is [region/]endpoint[/inference-component].
Endpoint and inference-component names are validated against SageMaker's naming rules, and the region prefix is detected with a hand-written matcher because it runs on every request.
Region precedence is model-id prefix, then alias region, then key region. There is no default region, since endpoints are regional.
The runtime host can be overridden for VPC endpoints, FIPS and dual-stack. cn-* regions resolve to the .amazonaws.com.cn suffix.
Bearer token minting
Ports sagemaker-core's generate_token: a SigV4 query-presigned CallWithBearerToken URL, base64-encoded and prefixed with sagemaker-api-key-.
Output is checked against golden vectors produced by botocore.
Tokens are cached per credential tuple and region, so a warm request is a single cache lookup.
Token TTL is one hour by default. It is shortened to end before temporary credentials expire, and clamped between 1 minute and 12 hours, because SageMaker returns 500 for longer values.
If SageMaker rejects a cached token as expired (403), it is invalidated so the next call mints a fresh one.
If Key.Value holds a pre-minted token, it is sent verbatim and never cached.
Credential resolution shared with Bedrock
Credential resolution (explicit keys, the default chain, and an optional cached STS AssumeRole) is extracted from signAWSRequest into an exported bedrock.ResolveAWSCredentials. SageMaker reuses it.
Bedrock request signing is unchanged: same header setup, body hashing, tracing spans and signing order.
Error unwrapping
SageMaker wraps container failures in a model_error envelope containing a CloudWatch link. The provider unwraps these to the container's own message and type.
It handles vLLM, SGLang and LMI formats, including LMI's stringified ErrorInfo.
LMI reports client errors as 424/500, so a 4xx code found inside the wrapper becomes the HTTP status.
Unrecognised wrappers keep SageMaker's original message.
Request body model
The body model is the key's model_name, or "" when unset. SageMaker routes by URL, and vLLM rejects an endpoint name but accepts an empty model.
The caller's request.Model is not mutated, so multi-turn loops that reuse a request keep working.
Key configuration and persistence
New SageMakerKeyConfig with access key, secret key, session token, region, role ARN, external ID, session name, model_name and endpoints.runtime.
The provider is registered as a standard, dynamically configurable provider. An empty key value is allowed, and a missing key config defaults to empty so IRSA and ambient credentials work.
New sagemaker_* columns on config_keys (migration add_sagemaker_key_columns). Columns are explicitly named, since GORM would otherwise derive sage_maker_*. Secrets and the endpoints JSON are encrypted at rest.
The new config is wired through the config store read/write paths, key hashing, config merge/reconcile, and virtual-key key stripping.
HTTP handlers
sagemaker_key_config is preserved on partial key updates.
Masked previews of credential fields are merged back to stored values.
Region is required and validated against host-shaped values.
endpoints.runtime is covered by the dial-target endpoint guard.
Credentials are redacted in provider and key listings, while the region stays visible unless it is env/vault-backed.
UI
New SageMaker section in the API key form with three auth methods: inherited IAM role, explicit credentials, and bearer token. It also has fields for region, container model name, assume-role options and the runtime VPC endpoint.
Added provider label, icon, model placeholder, zod schemas, TypeScript types and key-table env-resolution handling.
The bearer-token tab keeps its static key when switching auth methods.

Unit tests run without AWS access. They use a fake TLS runtime server and cover the wire request, model id and region handling, stream formats, error unwrapping, token minting, caching and expiry. The config store tests cover the encrypted round trip and redaction, and the handler tests cover merge and validation.

Security considerations
AWS credentials, session tokens, role ARN, external ID, session name and the runtime endpoint are encrypted at rest and redacted in API responses. A masked value sent back on update is replaced with the stored one.
Minted tokens contain a signature, never the secret key. A test asserts this.
endpoints.runtime is treated as a dial target and goes through the existing endpoint guard. Region values are validated so host-shaped input (for example evil.example/#) is rejected.
Expired tokens are dropped from the cache on a 403 "has expired" response. Other 403s, such as a wrong-region or malformed token, are treated as configuration errors and do not evict the cache.
Pre-minted tokens expire within 12 hours and are not refreshed.

Allow region-prefixed model IDs to satisfy SageMaker region validation.
SageMakerKeyConfig.Region is documented as required only when model IDs do not provide regions. However, this validator rejects every unset key-level region before create or update persistence. A key with models: ["us-east-1/endpoint"] is therefore rejected even though resolveRegion selects us-east-1.
Make this check conditional on whether all configured model IDs carry valid region prefixes. Keep the rejection for wildcard or unprefixed model configurations.
